On Dec. 12-13 Umicore was present with a joint team of unit- and HR representatives at "Careers in Europe", a two-day international jobfair, focussed on recruitment of university graduates and early-career professionals. 33 companies from the banking, pharmaceutical, food, energy, and chemical sector participated.
Careers in Europe advertised the vacancies of the participating companies on European university sites and other international, local and specialised jobsites. About 7.500 people applied. Careers in Europe selected 700 applicants to the event. They originated from all European countries, had different backgrounds going from finance, supply chain, IT, business development to engineering and were globally mobile.
We interviewed around 20 applicants for open positions and many more for possible future co-operations. It was a splendid opportunity to position Umicore as a preferred employer.
